Hugh Laurie is known for his dry-witted and sarcastic character of Dr. House, however, he is embracing his metrosexual side as the new face of L'Oreal's Men Expert line of cosmetics. L'Oreal has also signed on Gerard Butler and Patrick Dempsey to promote their line of men's cosmetics. It is interesting to note that Dempsey's wife is a professional makeup artist.
"At first I thought it was a mistake but then I realized that L'Oreal wasn't looking for models, but real people with strong personalities, who are worth it... and who aren't afraid to proclaim that using cosmetics can be a very masculine decision after all," Laurie said.
L'Oreal Paris' global brand president Cyril Chapuy said that Laurie is "the perfect example of a modern man: genuine, uninhibited, strong and willing to pursue his passions to the end."
I'm sure many male celebrities wear makeup regularly on-set and during photo shoots -- but do you think your average male will embrace the idea of male cosmetics? L'Oreal seems to be going after a more masculine audience for the male makeup line, by signing on Laurie, Butler and Dempsey.
Check out the video below as the 51-year-old actor talks about being the new face of L'Oreal Paris.
"My name is Gerald Butler before I've applied L'Oreal skincare for men," he joked.
